sad time for my L-00

In the 10 years or so I've owned my '32 L-00, It's been a wonderful guitar, sounds as clear as a bell, great V neck, etc... Its one problem has been that it has needed a neck reset 4 times in those 10...

Doug, I don't know any repairmen local to you, but I echo Howard's comments. His opinion carries more weight to begin with, but there it is.

Offhand I don't know who is local. You would need to ship to Bryan Kimsey, but he is not very far away--in southern Colorado, I think. Avoid shipping in hot weather if you do. Bryan can advise you.

The first thing I would do is get rid of the elevated fingerboard. Of course, that means another reset.......but in my experience, it would be the last one you will ever need.Old Gibsons tend to have...

Are you sure there aren't some loose braces inside? Cracked or partially cracked braces? Are you sure the bridge & bridge plate are solidly & correctly attached? Are you sure there is adequate...

I second the idea of a second. I had a '32 with elevated fingerboard for a number of years. The belly was bulged and the neck a bit twisted. It was stable with Thomastik AC112 strings. As an old-time...

Check with David Musselwhite in Jonestown, PA. While he may be mostly known for his Martin expertise, he is also well versed in Gibsons. You could also check with Dave and Rich at Brothers Music Shop...

I don't understand about getting rid of the elevated fingerboard. Seems like that puts the strings higher above the frets. I must be missing something.That is one of the reasons you need one more neck...
